The purpose of this e-learning course is to provide the theoretical component for basic background knowledge for occupational radiation protection. It provides an introduction to the basic principles of occupational exposure due to intakes of radionuclides, methods for direct and indirect measurement. The successful completion of the e-learning course will qualify the participants to take part in the practical training component.  


By the end of this e-learning course, the participants are expected to carry out a revision on this topic and perform an on-line quiz to ensure they have acquired adequate theoretical knowledge to be able to fully benefit from the said practical training course.


Participants should have an experience of medical laboratory, whole or partial body counting techniques, urines, faeces or other biological samples materials manipulations.

The language of instruction will be English.
