9-13 May 2022 - International Training Course on Developing Regulations and Associated Administrative Measures for Nuclear Security Regulatory Regime - Vienna, Austria

This international training course is intended to assist States with the development of suitable regulations, established under the relevant primary legislation of the respective States, so that assigned roles and responsibilities are carried out and powers are exercised according to law, cooperatively and in a coordinated manner within a State and, where necessary, between States. The course is intended for States with no nuclear security regulations in place, as well as for States that are currently developing nuclear security regulations or reviewing existing regulations in this area. It covers the regulations that may be established for nuclear and other radioactive material, as well as for associated facilities and activities. It also provides a general overview of the legislative and regulatory framework for nuclear and other radioactive material out of regulatory control.

State nuclear security regulations form the fundamental legal basis from which nuclear security activities follow. For all nuclear facilities and related activities involving nuclear material, operators must satisfy State nuclear security regulations. This course focuses on assisting Member States embarking on nuclear power programmes or related activities utilizing nuclear material and nuclear facilities in the drafting and implementation of their nuclear security regulations.
