17-21 October 2022, National Train the Trainers course on the Physical Protection of Nuclear Material and Nuclear Facilities, Rawalpindi, Pakistan

The purpose of the course is to build on participants’ knowledge of the security of nuclear material and nuclear facilities, and their existing training skills, and to equip them with tools and methods for delivering training courses on the physical protection of nuclear material and nuclear facilities to regulators, operators, law enforcement agencies and designers. The course aims to establish a new cadre of lecturers for future national or regional courses on the physical protection of nuclear material and nuclear facilities.

The course will consist of lectures and will include small-group working sessions. During the small-group sessions, the participants will apply concepts introduced in the lectures to practice delivering a course on physical protection of nuclear material and nuclear facilities.

13-24 June 2022, Regional Training Course on Physical Protection of Nuclear Material and Nuclear Facilities - Delft, the Netherlands

The purpose of the course is to establish awareness of the need for an integrated system of physical protection of nuclear material and nuclear facilities that is effective against such threats as radiological sabotage and theft of nuclear material. The course will familiarize participants with relevant international legal instruments, IAEA guidance and current physical protection concepts and technologies as well as provide information that will assist participants in developing and implementing physical protection systems based on systems engineering, state-of-the-art technology and facility analysis.
