The objective of this regional training course focused on French-speaking African Countries possessing or having radioactive material transports within their borders is to create awareness of the need for security during transport of radioactive material.  This regional training course will provide the participants with the necessary knowledge to develop and implement national transport security requirements.  Participants will benefit from learning about specific security measures and technologies that may be used as part of their respective national nuclear security regimes.

The course provides participants with an understanding of the need for security of radioactive material in transport and with information relevant to the development and implementation of national transport security requirements. Participants will benefit from learning about specific security measures that may be used to protect radioactive material during transport in accordance with IAEA recommendations and international instruments.
