Environmental Remediation - Using Risk Assessment to Guide Environmental Remediation Decisions

In the webinar it has been discussed opportunities and constraints to identifying appropriate dose- and risk-based remediation objectives and cleanup standards. This July 26, 2022, presentation is part of PNNL’s Center for the Remediation of Complex Sites (RemPlex) Seminar Series.

Environmental Remediation - Use of computational codes to support the decision making in environmental remediation projects

This webinar discusses the different aspects related to the use o mathematical models in the scope of environmental remediation, such as formulation of the Conceptual Site Model, governing equations, parameter values, probabilistic x deterministic models, uncertainties and communication of results to decision makers and stakeholders in general.

Environmental Remediation - Multi-Criteria Decision-Aid Tools in Environmental Remediation

Making decisions in complex contexts is indeed a very challenging endeavour. In many circumstances that is the case of making decision in the scope of Environmental Remediation when technical, economical, regulatory (safety) and social dimensions need to be all considered. Multi-Decision Criteria Analysis (MCDA) appears to be one methodology that can contribute to this process. Therefore, the objective of this webinar is to review the basics of MCDA, introduce a tool developed by the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology, Germany and demonstrate its application in a semi-real case giving the opportunity to extensive interaction with the audience.
