The objective of the webinar is to provide an overview of passive and active detection technologies used for detection of CBRNE (chemical, biological, radiological and nuclear and explosive materials) and other contraband.  Additionally, the webinar will solicit ideas and issues for further discussion at the larger TM planned on the topic for Q3 2021.

Webinar 2: Overview of Approaches for Management of Nuisance Alarms from Radiation Portal Monitors

The objective of the webinar is to provide an overview of techniques used for managing nuisance alarms from Radiation Portal Monitors (RPMs). Additionally, the webinar will introduce opportunities for States to further enhance their own approaches for nuisance alarms and address current and planned safety and security guidance.

Webinar 3: Overview of Approach for Estimating Activity in a Package Using a Portable HPGe Detector

This webinar includes an introduction to and demonstration of in-situ object measurement techniques using a portable HPGe detector, and covers:
• description of typical hardware configuration
• system setup
• energy and efficiency calibration procedures
• field measurement requirements; and• data analysis (reporting), including the presentation of uncertainties.

Webinar 4: Utilization of InterSpec for High Purity Germanium (HPGe) Analyses Including Shielding

The objective of the webinar is to provide an overview of the approach for objects measurements with portable HPGe detectors involving the use of the open-source software: InterSpec.
