In particular, these webinars will focus on activities which help Member States develop a sustainable pipeline of qualified nuclear professionals to meet the needs of industry by bringing together educational providers and expertise across networks and university nuclear educational programmes.

Webinar 4.2 The National Human Resource and Knowledge Development (HRKD) Network

The 62nd IAEA General Conference highlighted the benefits of collaboration between IAEA, universities, industry, national laboratories and government institutes, and the role that international and national human resource and knowledge development (HRKD) networks play in facilitating this collaboration.

The webinar aims to promote national HRKD networks to Member States by providing information about their concept, possible structure and management as well as the process of their establishment.

During the webinar, international experts who are currently operating national HRKD networks will present their activities, experiences and lessons learned through their establishment and operation. 

The aims of the webinar are defined as:

• Recognize the importance of national HRKD networks;

• Understand their structure and management;

• Learn from the experiences in Member States where the networks are in operation;

• Develop plans for possible establishment of a network.

Webinar 4.1 International Nuclear Management Academy

The webinar will provide an overview of the International Nuclear Management Academy (INMA) for universities that provide master’s degree programmes focusing on management for the nuclear and radiological sectors.

The webinar aims to support experts in universities and other educational institutions, who are responsible for the development, implementation and improvement of nuclear technology management (NTM) master’s degree programmes by:

• Explaining the NTM curriculum requirements and how they can be delivered for part-time study and distance learning in a short-course format for currently employed nuclear professionals, as well as a traditional university programme for full-time students;

• Describing the IAEA endorsement process and the information required prior to the associated IAEA review missions.

During the webinar, international experts will present good practices and lessons learned in developing and executing master’s degree programmes in nuclear technology management. They will describe their respective experiences and why they have established NTM programmes

• Understand why the IAEA has established INMA and how the INMA-NTM curriculum requirements were developed;

• Learn how universities have developed their NTM master’s programmes;

• Learn how the IAEA facilitates the endorsement process through assist and assessment missions;

• Learn about the requirements for the information package required for each university programme before the missions;

Webinar 4.3 An introduction to the NKM Digital Hub Platform for Member States

This webinar will introduce the newly commissioned NKM Digital Hub to Member States.  The purpose of the NKM Hub is to provide an effective shop window for Member States to access the ongoing activities, events and topics of interest associated with the NKM programmes.

The aims of the webinar are to:

• Introduce the new NKM Digital Hub structure and layout

• Identify how the Member States can access all their relevant NKM information and data to help their programmes

• Seek feedback from Member States regarding how they would like the hub to develop.
