26 May 2021 Webinar on The Role of the IAEA in Strengthening Capacity of Women in Nuclear Security Worldwide

The IAEA is committed to gender equality and to supporting the ability of all individuals, regardless of gender, to equally contribute to and benefit from its programmes and activities. The Agency therefore encourages women to bring their expertise, experiences and knowledge to the field of nuclear security regarding establishing, implementing, maintaining and sustaining national nuclear security regimes. Furthermore, the IAEA strives towards equal representation of women at its events and meetings, and to this end, encourages Members States to nominate Women to participate in its activities, including international conferences, education and training activities, the activities of the International Nuclear Security Education Network (INSEN), the Nuclear Security Support Centre (NSSC) Network and the Nuclear Security Guidance Committee.

16 February 2021 Webinar on Overview of Core-training for Security of Radioactive Material in Use and Storage and Associated Facilities

This webinar provides an overview of the core-training provided by the IAEA for the security of radioactive material in use and storage and associated facilities. These include an overview of the following courses:

  • Security of Radioactive Material in Use and Storage
  • Physical Protection Systems for Radioactive Material and Associated Facilities
  • Addressing Insider Threats for Radioactive Material and Associated Facilities
  • Authorization and Inspection for the Security of Radioactive Material

The session will also provide an opportunity for participants to request additional information and will assist to raise awareness of training opportunities.

10 September 2020 Webinar on NSSC

The objectives of the webinar are:

  • To raise awareness on the new IAEA publication TDL-010, and 
  • To highlight the Agency's support for and to share States’ experience with implementing a systematic approach to establishing and operating an NSSC.

Target audience primarily consists of Members of the International Network for Nuclear Security Training and Support Centres (NSSC Network or other organizations and national authorities with responsibilities related to sustaining the nuclear security regime. The webinar is open to officials and nuclear security professionals from the above-mentioned organizations in Member States.

30 July 2020 Webinar on the Convention on the Physical Protection of Nuclear Material (CPPNM) and its Amendment

The purpose of this webinar is to promote adherence to and implementation of the CPPNM and its Amendment through the provision of information on the scope and obligations of, as well as the benefits of joining the CPPNM and its Amendment, and through the exchange of views and experiences of States. Information will also be provided on relevant IAEA legislative assistance and technical activities that help facilitate a State’s adherence to the CPPNM and its Amendment. 

21 July 2020 Webinar on INSServ

The purpose of the Webinar is to raise awareness on how INSServ programme will assist Member States in maintaining and strengthening their nuclear security regime related to nuclear and other radioactive material out of regulatory control based on the INSServ Guidelines, IAEA Service Series No. 39, published in May 2019.
