    Welcome to the Control of Radioactive Material Inadvertently Incorporated Into Scrap Metal E-Learning! 

    This e-learning addresses the control of radioactive materials inadvertently incorporated into scrap metal and semi-finished products of the metal recycling industries.Radioactivity in scrap metal is detected occasionally at metal recycling sites, and must be detected and removed to avoid injuries, large costs and the creation of radioactive waste. Upon successfully finishing the e-learning, participants are awarded a certificate of completion.

    Initial Training for Serving as an EPREV Reviewer

    This course covers the basics of the EPREV Service and Mission and shall be used as initial mandatory training for those who will serve as an EPREV Reviewer. After completing the module, submitting a feedback form and passing a final test this three-hour e-learning module provides an online module certificate.

    Refresher Training for EPREV Reviewers

    This two-hour course shall be used as a Refresher Training before going on mission. Please note that you have to pass the three-hour Initial Training for Serving as an EPREV Reviewer before taking this short Refresher Module.

    Communication with the Public in a Nuclear or Radiological Emergency

    This course provides practical guidance for Public Information Officers (PIOs) on how to prepare for and respond to nuclear or radiological emergencies.  The course supports the IAEA’s Emergency Preparedness and Response series publication 'Communication with the Public in a Nuclear or Radiological Emergency'.

    Through a series of modules, PIOs are taught how to coordinate sources of official public information to ensure a consistent message is being provided to the public before, during and after an emergency. The modules use lessons learned from past emergencies, simulated scenarios and exercises, as well as expert tips, to highlight best practices for emergency communication. PIOs are furnished with the tools required to deliver effective emergency communication for protection of the public.

    Medical Response to Radiation Emergencies


    This course provides specific training in the medical response to a nuclear or radiological emergency and medical management of individuals involved in these emergencies. The target audience for this course are different professionals that could be involved in the medical response to nuclear or radiological emergencies, including (but not limited to) healthcare providers and medical physicists. Medical doctors who already have a basic knowledge of medical response can increase their knowledge in the treatment and medical management.

    The six online modules are related to generalities; basic concepts on radiation protection; arrangements on medical preparedness and response; and medical management of individuals involved in nuclear or radiological emergencies. These modules were developed for the "Advanced Training for Medical Doctors", and the content is also suitable for Medical Physicists, complementing other IEC developed materials delivered in classroom training specific for Medical Physicists ("Training Materials for Medical Physicists Supporting the Response to Nuclear or Radiological Emergencies", based on EPR-Pocket Guide for Medical Physicists "Pocket Guide for Medical Physicists Supporting the Response to Nuclear or Radiological Emergencies” and EPR-Medical Physicists "Guidance for Medical Physicists Responding to a Nuclear or Radiological Emergency").
